X17 Responds to Perez Hilton’s Lawsuit

perezhilton2.jpgRegarding Perez Hilton’s lawsuit against X17, the paparazzi agency’s attorneys at Turner Green Afrasiabi & Arledge LLP just sent us this statement:

Mr. Lavandeira’s suit appears to be a desperate attempt to retaliate against my client for its successful efforts in taking down his website last week, when Hoodlum Hosting and Crucial Paradigm decided to cease hosting www.perezhilton.com based on his continued infringing activities. It is deeply ironic that Lavandeira is now seeking to vindicate the rights of photographers when it is his position that he should be able to use anyone’s copyright photographs without compensation. If the world operated by Mr. Lavandeira’s skewed interpretation of intellectual property law, the photography business would cease to exist and photographers would be out of work entirely.
