Merry Miller: The Best Thing to Happen to ABC News Now
Posted by on 07/30/07 in Array

There’s more than ABC News’ XXX intern pics to cause Mickey Mouse’s head to ache. Last week’s surfacing of Merry Miller’s interview with Holly Hunter on ABC News Now – that even scored pick up from Joel McHale on The Soup – has created quite the scuffle inside West 66th Street.
Not only was Merry “TV Disaster” Miller – who once led The Learning Annex to a record $100 million in revenue – eventually fired over the fracas, but everyone from TNT brass to Hunter’s camp have made their anger known to top ABC execs. Meanwhile, ABC is on the hunt for the insider who leaked the clip: If you look closely, you’ll see that the version circulating the net is without ABC’s lower-third logo (which is attached during broadcast), which means the segment came from an in-house feed.
The online news divison, however, isn’t sweating it. With hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube and elsewhere, the clip is likely the most-seen segment to come out of ABC News Now … ever.
